Balinese Sculpture Saraswati with Swan

Large Bali wood sculpture of the four-armed goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music, art, wisdom and learning. The Goddess is shown holding a musical instrument that is held in her front hands, which represents the mind and intellect. Standing on a swan. Handcarved and polychrome decorated. Bali, Indonesia ca 1960-1970. There is an incized marking underneath, but hard to read, Height 41 cm.

Condition: Good condition with signs of age


Balinese sculptuur van de 4-armige godin Saraswati, de godin van kennis, muziek, kunst, wijsheid en leren. Ze heeft een muziekinstrument met haar voorste handen, wat staat voor de geest en intellect. Ze staat op een zwaan.  Handgesneden en polychroom gedecoreerd, Bali 1960-1970. er is een ingekrast merk onderop, maar moeilijk t ontcijferen. Hoogte 41 cm.

Conditie: Goede conditie met sporen van leeftijd
